Automation in transport is no longer just a leading trend of changes in the automotive sector, but a fact. Over the 70 years of its existence, the Motor Transport Institute, one of the Trustonomy project partner, has responded to the needs of the economy and technical progress in the field of road transport, and also today, by being part of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, it is witnessing the disappearance of boundaries between people and machines and the dissemination of the Internet of Things.

One of the Motor Transport Institute’s leading activities is its involvement in the popularization of autonomous vehicles, which culminated in the AV-POLAND 2021 conference, which turned out to be the most important event related to AVs in Poland, an opportunity to meet representatives of the automotive industry, learn about the latest trends and achievements, and above all, to discuss the future of road transport.

Continuing pioneering activities in the field of popularizing the subject of autonomous vehicles, the Motor Transport Institute together with the Competence Center for Autonomous and Connected Vehicles,  on 7 June 2022 organized AV-POLAND 2022, in a hybrid formula.

Trustonomy had the pleasure to join AV-POLAND 2022, including it in its media event, and spreading the knowledge and experience among different stakeholders interested in autonomous mobility.

The speakers included representatives of the Polish government (Ministry of Infrastructure), academic units (Warsaw University of Technology), as well as representatives of the automotive industry operating all over the world (including Aptiv, AVL, ZF, Blees).
Trustonomy was represented by PhD Eng. Mikołaj Kruszewski from the Motor Transport Institute. Mikołaj took part in the discussion panel “Social knowledge and awareness in the field of automation – what next?” and in the session devoted to International initiatives with the participation of Polish entities. There, next to projects such as Drive2theFuture, one of the Trustonomy sister projects (Adam Sobieraj, PZM), and HeadStart (Xavier Sellart, IDIADA), he presented the results of the Trustonomy project, with particular emphasis on DIPA and HMI modules. He finished his speech with a conclusion about the need to establish proper trust in AV by developing new driver skills.

Participants could learn more about the project also through the Trustonomy stand organized in the exhibition area. There, representatives of Skoda Auto Szkoła and Motor Transport Institute have been further disseminating project results and exchanging insights with the participants of AV-POLAND.

The event was also a great media success. The media patrons of the conference were: TVPInfo (Polish National Television, news channel), Polskie Radio Kierowców (Polish Driver Radio), PAP (Polish Press Agency). The presence of a significant number of journalists from about 20 different media outlets provided wide coverage – according to the received media report about 5 mln people had a chance to hear about AV-POLAND 2022!
